Ice Works is a collaboration with Mother Nature. These paintings were started outdoors when it was -30 deg C. By layering water and paint non-representational compositions we created. When taken indoors these paintings started to melt. The race was then on between the melting process of the water and the drying process of the paint. Ice sliding down the surface of the painting acted like Mother Nature’s palette knife. Some works were created by collecting the run-off of the “ice” paintings.
